Whirlwind

Since I got back into town it feel like I have been playing catch up and trying to adjust back into my normal routine. For some reason this process seems to be taking me a little longer than usual. I've already been back at work for a week & it finally dawned on me that it's already the end of the month.
July has been a huge whirlwind and I can't believe it's nearly over. How and when did that happen?

I suppose it's just because I've had a lot more going on this month than usual, but it was the good sort of busy. Aside from getting to go an a truly memorable and amazing trip, I worked a lot and did my best to really enjoy this month.
I also lightened my hair and quit plucking my eyebrows. At home we've been addicted to spinach and artichoke dip & our new favorite show Halt and Catch Fire.
July has been a pretty good month.

I'm still planning on sharing some pictures from my trip but I haven't even begun to shift through them yet to find the best ones, mostly because I couldn't find the time, and partially out of being lazy. I promise to share a few with you soon!

Oranges And Olives

Orange and olive green are two of my favorite colors to wear but I never really considered wearing them together. I'm pretty happy with how they look together but it definitely comes off to me as more of a fall color scheme. Either way I like this outfit. I pretty much love any outfit with this skirt because it's just so amazing.

I have been day dreaming about fall and fall clothes. I think fall is my favorite time of year to get dressed. I love sweaters and leggings and fall colors. Olive green and orange seem like the perfect color pairing for fall so that makes me excited since I've added a lot of new olive colored clothing in the past year ;)

All of this talk about fall may have fooled you into thinking I'm over summer, but I assure you I am not. I suppose that is a good thing since there is still so much summertime left. Luckily I have some awesome things coming up soon that I'm looking forward to :)
Do you have any fun summer plans?

Bohemian Vibes

Have you ever tried to pinpoint what 'your style' is? It's a really difficult thing for me to do. I really like vintage fashion ranging from the 1940's to the 1970's. I also live minimalistic simple clothes, but sometimes I want to feel super casual or grungy. I don't know that I'll ever be able to choose one sort of style that I like, so I guess my style is eclectic? We'll go with that.

For this outfit I was feeling Bohemian so I rolled with it. It was easy to do with this Aztec print top and some moccasins. I love boho style and I definitely want to keep my eye out for for essential boho pieces while thrifting like some amazing patterned pants, leather clogs, anything with fringe, and all thing Navajo and Aztec print. Lucky for me I live in Texas so these things aren't too difficult to come by.

Deja Vu

If you feel like this outfit looks slightly familiar it's because it's the summer version of this outfit I shared in February. It's more feminine and less folksy than the earlier version but as with most things lately, I decided to keep things on the simple side. You may notice that I did keep the exact same color pallet, this was not intentional, I guess I just really like these colors together ;)

This dress is one of my favorites because of it's versatility, but also because it just fits really well. The length is perfect, and obviously it's perfect to wear year round. The funny thing is I never used to wear much of the color navy. I usually would just opt for black if ever possible, I don't know when I starting giving navy a chance but I'm so glad I did because it's a really versatile and fun color to wear.

May Flowers

I can hardly believe that mother's day, (and also my Husband's birthday!) have come and gone. I told you guys May was going to be another quick month. I'm glad that time has been going by pretty quickly though, because now my coast trip is only days away.

I always get so excited for this annual coast trip, and all the preparation has made me that much more anxious. It's a vicious cycle really. The weather around here hasn't been exactly beach friendly though so maybe it's good to have a few days. Can you tell I'm just trying to convince myself at this point?

Get Outside!

We are loving every minute of spring so far around here. We've been opening the windows and our patio door and enjoying the beautiful weather as much as we possibly can. It feels like we waited forever to get here and I don't want to take it for granted. One of my favorite things about the past few weeks has been watching everything come back to life. Our garden is slowly growing and wildflowers have started covering the roadsides.

When you grow up in Texas it's almost a requirement that you take pictures in bluebonnets that grow wild everywhere. They've been blooming recently and it reminded me of taking pictures in them with my brother and sister when were kids. I may have to find a few of those old pictures the next time I visit my parent's house because I can't see the wild flowers without thinking of them. Maybe I can even get a few new ones for old time's sake.

All Good Things

I have a rare Sunday off of work today and I have been making the most of it. I slept in, and plan on having a lazy day. Those truly are the best sort of Sundays, and mine are few and far between.
I decided to celebrate the occasion by wearing a dress despite the ridiculously cold temperatures.

I love this dress and have had it for a while although I've only shared an outfit with it once. The fit of this dress is just amazing and the pattern is a perfect simple geometric print. I had to add these orange cable knit tights to keep myself from shivering!

The beige cardigan, mineral necklace, and hat are all from Target. The loafers are thrifted.

I really love how this outfit has a lot of color and texture but is otherwise pretty simple. These sort of outfits are definitely my favorites.

Time to get back to being lazy and relaxing, and yes, watching the super bowl.
Happy Sunday,
-Reagan
