Halloween Gender Reveal

I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! We had especially big plans this year because we decided to have a Halloween Gender Reveal party to announce what our little one's sex will be. My parents throw a costume party nearly every Halloween and my husband and I thought it would be a super fun way to find out the gender of our baby. A few weeks back when we had our ultrasound we asked the technician to write the gender down and seal it in an envelope instead of telling us, and we took that envelope to our bakery at Naegelin's Bakery in New Braunfels. It was really hard not to peek into that card but we stayed strong and found out yesterday with all our loved ones that we will be having a little boy! My mom organized the whole party and made all the decorations and truly made this an unforgettable day for us! It was so much fun finding out this way and definitely made this our most memorable Halloween to date. We are going to name our little one Hunter Michael Avery and I am so excited to start planning our his nursery more and go crazy on my baby shower registry! :P

Hope you had as amazing of a Halloween as we did this year!
October was really a whirlwind of a month and this truly was the only fitting way to end it. I'm so excited for November to see my bump grown, celebrate my birthday, and gather for Thanksgiving with friends and family. Can't believe November is already here, but so excited about it at the same time :)

Braken Pumpkin Patch

Dress: Old Navy // Leggings: Target // Boots: Target (Similar) // Necklace: Old Forever21 (Similar)

Visiting Braken Pumpkin Patch is my new favorite autumn tradition. I visited last year with my sister and this year I wanted my husband to see how amazing the pumpkin patch is. There were families with their kiddos taking pictures and it had me and my husband so excited to bring our little one here next year. This year however, it made the perfect setting for maternity outfit photos ( hence the picture heavy post). Next up on my autumn to do list is to carve pumpkins and roast the pumpkin seeds!

Landa Park

Necklace: JcPenney (similar) // Dress: Old Navy // Belt: Thrifted (similar) // Satchel: JcPenney (similar) // Ankle Boots c/o Metrostyle (similar)
Landa Park is one of my favorite spots in New Braunfels. The park was opened in 1936 and has everything from train rides to hiking trails to paddle boats. It's the perfect place to picnic or take your dog for a walk. I practically grew up in Landa Park's playgrounds so I was excited to walk through the park grounds with my husband, pregnant with our first child. It was an awesome way to spend the afternoon. We decided to take a few outfit photos while we walked around but these pictures don't really do the park justice. It was hot out so we cut our visit short but I'm hoping to visit the park again with our dog whenever we get a cold front (hoping that's sooner than later).
Aside from our visit to Landa Park we also visited my obgyn for our twenty week sonogram. It was only our third sonogram and it had been seven weeks since the last ultrasound so it was exciting to see how much our baby has grown. The ultrasound technician was able to determine the gender but we are planning a Halloween gender reveal party so we still don't know what our baby's gender is yet. The suspense is killing us but we've already waited five months so what's another two and a half weeks? I've been wanting to do a little update with how the pregnancy has been going and what my experience has been like so far but I think I will save that for another day ;) I'm also hoping to share some of my crochet projects I've been working on lately as well so look out for those posts soon(ish)!

Favorite Autumn Looks

I love looking back at past outfits, especially by season. It's a fun way to see what your favorite colors, styles and looks are for every time of year. Autumn is my favorite season and I love putting outfits together this time of year. Looking at my past favorite outfits from fall you can definitely tell I favor olive green and orange. I'm already planning to take more festive outfit photos this autumn - just looking at these has me inspired!

Autumn Hues

Dress: Forever21 (old) // Cardigan: JcPenney (similar)  // Boots c/o Metrostyle (similar)

First things first, I cut my hair! Over the past couple of months I've trimmed 6 to 7 inches off my hair and it feels amazing. My hair was pretty damaged from lightening it and I think it showed. It feels so much healthier and lighter. I opted for a clavicut so it's short but still long enough to throw into a pony tails on days it just doesn't want to cooperate or I just don't want to bother.

Onto the outfit! I love dressing for fall. I love rich autumn hues but I don't have too many in my closet at this time (especially items that I actually fit into at this point in my pregnancy!) but I love this dress this time of year. It's the perfect mustard shade in such a ladylike style. It looks so autumnal paired with this oxblood shade cardigan - which is the softest cardigan I own. To finish off this look I paired it with these cognac ankle boots from metrostyle that are my go to pair in the fall and winter months. They just go with everything! It can be easy to forget it's technically fall since the temperatures here are still rather warm to say the least, but dressing in colors of fall foliage helps remind me that (hopefully) cooler temperatures aren't too far off.

How are you getting in the fall spirit?

Leopard Details

Hat, Flats, Belt, & Jeans : Target // Top: Thrifted // Sweater: Walmart

Leopard print is a favorite of mine for several reasons. I love that it is a neutral, but it is a print so it adds a little extra detail to any outfit. It also pairs up nicely with my other favorite neutrals like olive and denim. I added this leopard print belt to my closet recently and I'm in love. It adds just the right amount of pattern and texture!

P.S. It's my birthday today! Oh how time flies!
