30 x 30: Eight

Top, Jeans, & Purse: JcPenney // Sweater: Walmart // Flats: Target

How is it almost March already?! Gosh February has been a quick month, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't super excited we're nearing spring finally. I'm about sick of winter ;)

Anyway, here's one of my favorite combinations: olive, denim, & leopard print. I seriously can't get enough of this pairing. I've worn an outfit similar to this in the past but the look is completely different when you swap out the accessories. That has to be one of my favorite things about basics, you just tweak a few things and viola, you have an entire new outfit.

30 x 30: Five

Top, Jeans, & Necklace: JcPenney // Flats: Target

I wore this exact outfit to dinner with my parents the night before I took these photos and I liked it so much I recreated it. I did change up the necklace to match my olive green skinnies because I like coordinating things of that sort when I can. Although this outfit is pretty simple I like to have add interesting details like olive colored jeans (instead of blue jeans) and leopard print flats (opposed to plain black) to keep this outfit from being boring. Adding a statement necklace is the icing on the cake, so although all the clothing I'm wearing is pretty basic the overall look is somewhat polished.
How do you dress up basics?

30 x 30: Four

Hat, Jeans, & Flats: Target // Top & Necklace: JcPenney // Jacket: Thrifted

When I put together the items for this 30 x 30 challenge I had anticipated dressing for cold weather so I included items like jackets, cardigans, sweaters, and a coat. As the saying goes, God laughs when you make plans... the temperature on the day I took these outfit pictures was in the 80's so I definitely didn't need the jacket (hence it only being on for a few photos). Supposedly the temperatures are about to drop again so I should be able to style more winter-friendly outfits for the 30 x 30 challenge (I'm sure people in other parts of the country are rolling their eyes at my complaints but in Texas we deal with hot temperatures for so long throughout the year that I gladly welcome winter). Had I known how warm it would get I probably would've included some shorts in the challenge because they definitely could have gotten some use today ;)
Nothing makes me feel like I'm getting older like how much I'm concerned about the weather these days. I suppose there's worse things, right?

30 x 30: Two

Jacket c/o Chadwicks // Dress and Flats: Target // Purse: JcPenney // Belt: Thrifted

Since Texas has experienced a few spring like days I took the opportunity to sport some bare legs for outfit number two in my 30 by 30 challenge. I paired up some of my favorite items in an outfit, and o I'm pleased with how the mixture turned out. I love pairing stripes and leopard print and this denim jacket just brought the whole look together.
What are your favorite patterns to mix and match?

Till the End of Time

Sunglasses: heb // Top, belt, & purse: Thrifted // Jeans: JcPenney (diy distressed)  // Flats: Target (old)

Last Outfit of 2014! It's sort of insane how quickly this year went by... December was basically a blur, although, like I said in my end of the year outfit round up, this was a pretty good year for HN. I've figured out my style a little bit better and even got to collaborate with some awesome companies. Needless to say this has me really excited to see what 2015 has in store. I'm not really the type to make new year's resolutions but I am hoping for this blog to continue to grow and to work with more awesome companies and/or bloggers. How was your 2014? Do you have any resolutions or goals for the coming year? I'd love to hear!

Leopard Details

Hat, Flats, Belt, & Jeans : Target // Top: Thrifted // Sweater: Walmart

Leopard print is a favorite of mine for several reasons. I love that it is a neutral, but it is a print so it adds a little extra detail to any outfit. It also pairs up nicely with my other favorite neutrals like olive and denim. I added this leopard print belt to my closet recently and I'm in love. It adds just the right amount of pattern and texture!

P.S. It's my birthday today! Oh how time flies!
