Everyday Make-Up 03

Last Month I shared my second everyday make-up post and decided I wanted to make it a more regular feature here on the blog. I like make-up and I have a lot of fun trying out new looks and new products. I always love reading make-up blogs but I find a lot of the time the products mentioned are pricier brands that I don't use and so I want to share more of my favorite drugstore brands that are easier on the wallet. Sound good?

This month I wanted to share a look I'll be sporting a lot this fall, a more natural smokey eye and a deep fall lip shade. This is a classic autumn look but can also be easily adjusted for anytime of year. I tried to keep things pretty simple and use products that are easily available so this look will be super easy to replicate as well.

I start with my favorite foundation, Covergirl Aquasmooth foundation in ivory. I love this foundation for so many reasons. It has spf 20 and it offers great coverage. With other foundations I've tried I have to use a concealer as well but this foundation covers everything up nicely without an extra product to carry around. (Anytime a product works well, is affordable, and allows me to eliminate an item from my makeup bag I'm sold.) After the foundation I used one of my favorite blushes, Covergirl Cheekers in pretty peach. I love this shade because it looks natural but gives your cheeks that slightly rosy flush. After I apply the blush to my cheek bones I move on to my eyebrows. I prefer Rimmel's eyebrow pencils although since going darker I've started using the dark brown shade instead of my usual light brown. Today I went for a softer natural looking brow so I just filled in and shaped my brows with a light hand. After my eyebrows I used the same Rimmel pencil to outline the outer portion of my lower lash line, and use a Rimmel Scandeleyes pencil in nude for my waterline to open up my eyes. Then I used the Covergirl eyeshadow in mink over my entire upper lid. To create the smoky look I used one of Covergirl's smokyshadowblast eyeshadow sticks in a rusty autumn shade in the outer section of my eyelid and blended it up into the crease as well. I also used Covergirl's eyeshadow in French Vanilla on the inner corners of my eyes and on my brow bone as a highlighter. To finish up my eyes I used Prestige Liquid eyeliner in black to achieve my signature cat-eye and then my favorite mascara, Maybelline's Falsie's BigEyes Mascara in Blackest Black on my upper lashes only, and then curled them and applied another coat (or two). For my lips I used a NYC lipstick in Mahogany, a perfect fall shade. I actually found this lipcolor on someone through pinterest or something and knew I had to try it because that line of NYC lipsticks cost less than a dollar and the lip color looked perfect. I wasn't sure if it looked quite right on me or not ( I'm usually a bit skeptical about darker shades because I think they emphasize a lip scar) but I decided I like it anyway.  So there you have it, a fairly simple autumn inspired make-up look using all drugstore products :)

Let me know if you try this look out I'd love to see. Also feel free to recommend other everyday looks you'd like to see!

Everyday Make-Up 02

Back in August I shared my everyday make-up routine and today I wanted to share another variation of easy everyday make-up adjusted a little bit for fall. I try to change up my make-up a little bit every season and in the fall I tend to favor neutral tones and a bit more dramatic eye make-up. Here is one simple variation of a fall make-up look.

I'm still using my Covergirl Aquasmooth Foundation, it's my favorite that I've repurchased for years. I love the coverage and the formula of the foundation is spot on. For blush I went with my Jordana blush in Touch of Pink, it's a peachy-pink shade that looks almost natural. For my eyebrows I've been using an Essence eyebrow pencil in Taupe, although I'm really looking for a replacement as the formula of the pencil smudges a little bit too easily for eyebrow use. For my eyes I line the bottom with the same eyebrow pencil and smudge it into my lashline a little. On my eyelids I used Revlon's Colorstay eyeshadow in Decadent, primarily the two shades on the right. I used the lighter shade, which is a warm, gold-toned nude, all over my eyelid, up to my browbone, and then added the darker shade, which is a coppery brown shade, to the outer corner of my eye, and blend it up into the crease on my eyelid. I also used an angled brush to blend the darker shade into the eyeliner on my lashline to set it in and make it a little more blended and smoked out. I usually tend to keep things on the natural side but for this look I decided to emphasize my eyes a little bit more, while still using a natural pallet. After the eyeshadow I use a generous amount of Prestige Liquid eyeliner in my usual cat-eye shape. After eyeliner I apply mascara to both my top and bottom lashes. I never used to wear mascara on my bottom lashes because I always had issues controlling the amount of product that winds up on my lashes and it always ended up getting smudged under my eyes or clumping up. That was until I found Maybelline's Falsies Big Eyes mascara with dual wands for both upper and bottom lashes. I was a fan of Maybelline's Falsie's mascara before this but this sold me completely. It's a new favorite, and it is perfect for creating a more dramatic look. After mascara I use my Rimmel nude eyeliner on my waterline to open my eyes and to add a bit more drama. To finish this look I used a Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick a matte nude shade #113. It's an almost natural shade and a matte formula that doesn't dry out which can be hard to find. If you haven't tried a shade from this line I definitely recommend it!

Anyway that ended up getting longer than I would have liked, but there you have it, a little step by step of what I do to achieve a slightly more dramatic everyday make-up look. I try not to use too many products and everything I use is budget friendly.
As always please let me know about any products you think I would like, I love hearing your suggestions and finding new products to love. Lately I've been looking to try out more natural, organic, and cruelty-free brands so if you know of any I'd love to hear from you.

Everyday Make-up 01

Today I wanted to share the make-up products I currently use to achieve my everyday look. I try to keep things pretty simple and also aim to keep my overall look natural but polished.

I use Covergirl Aquasmooth foundation. I love this foundation and have repurchased it several times. It is a full coverage foundation with a creamy consistency. I also use a Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Natural Twinkle. This color is my go to blush for when I want a natural look that isn't too pink.  It's just perfect for my skin tone.
I'm still using my Milani Brow Kit for my eyebrows. This kit is my favorite product for achieving full natural brows. I've tried so many brown pencils and I keep coming back to this brow kit, it's just better than anything else I've found.

For my eyes I use the highlighter from the brow kit on my brow bone and in the corners of my eyes. I always do some form of a cat-eye when I do my make-up, today I went with a classic cat eye and only extended the eyeliner about halfway across my lid using my Black Pearl Almay Liquid Eyeliner. I finish off my eye make-up with several coats of Almay volumizing Mascara.

To complete my look I used an NYC Twistable lip color in Riverside Rose. Rose is my favorite lip color right now. It's perfect for fall and very easy to wear.

There you have it. I try to keep my make-up routine pretty simple because my skin gets fussy if I do too much. This is pretty much my signature look except I swap about rose, red, and nude colored lipsticks. I'm a huge fan of Cat-eye eyeliner and rosy cheeks so I rarely stray from this routine.

What's your signature look?

Summer Skin Picks

Every new season of the year I try to alter my regular make-up routine a bit to adjust for new weather and seasonal styles. For summer this means finding make-up that will work for your everyday summertime activities, but also give your skin that sun-kissed summer look.
I wanted to share a few of the products in my summer rotation this year that have quickly become favorites.

I use the Garnier BB Cream for Sensitive Skin, I find it less oily then the regular BB cream, and I love this product for summer because it has an SPF in it as well. I usually use this instead of foundation because it is more lightweight but still offers a little coverage. I use the Maybelline Fit me! foundation stick for areas that need a little more coverage. This stuff is great, not too oily and blends really well. I use the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer's Brightener as a highlighter & for under my eyes. I LOVE this concealer. I've had problems with other concealers being super oily and sinking into areas around my eyes, this concealer doesn't do that & is perfect for hiding dark circles. I get the best results if I tap the concealer instead of rubbing it in and then dust it with powder to really set it. The next two products are really for that summery glow. They are NYC bronzer in Sunny and Wet n' Wild Fergie Shimmer Pallette in Rose Champagne Glow. I love the NYC bronzer, it's been a summer favorite for years. It's the perfect color that doesn't show up orange and blends well. I also love that it's matte so when I'm in a pinch it works well as eyeshadow or even a brow filler. The Wet n' Wild Fergie Shimmer pallette is a shimmery highlighter. This isn't something I would wear everyday but it's perfect for adding a little more glow to your skin when you want a little something extra. This stuff also works well as a good brow highlighter if you're into product multitaskers :)

Of all of the products if you only get two run and get the concealer and bronzer and thank me later ;)
What are your must have summer make-up products?

NYC Twistable Intense Lip Color

I've been wanting to do a post on the NYC Twistable Intense Lip Color pretty much from the day I came across it. It's pretty similar to Revlon version at about half the price. I currently own four shades.

The shades pictured are Riverside Rose, Ballroom Blush, South Ferry Berry, and Roosevelt Red.
My two favorite shades are the rose shade and the red shade.
The rose shade is perfect for everyday wear, but I would say it may be more of an autumn shade (along with the Roosevelt red shade, which I found a tad too dark). The Red shade, South Ferry Berry, is the perfect cool toned red.

The formula of these "twistable intense lip colors" is that of a lightweight balm type of lipstick. The formula goes on smooth and offers good coverage for a balm type lip color. I'm not a fan of lip color I can feel on my lips and this lip color isn't something I notice while wearing, although I do blot it after I apply.

They have a variety of shades and I'm sure I'll get another because I love the formula of the product as well as the price. This is my new favorite lip item for the summer.
Have you tried a NYC Twistable Intense Lip Color yet?

My Favorite Blushes

In April I shared a few of my favorite pink lipsticks and today I am back to share five of my favorite blushes. It can be hard to know where to begin when trying to choose a blush. There is a lot to consider, including your skin tone, eye color, and personal preference. I tend to prefer pink and peachy blushes. I find that these shades are easy to wear for everyday use. I also like these shades because I can wear them year round. I think I started using blush in high school and it was then that I began using Covergirl blushers. My favorite shade right now is Pretty Peach #150. I actually own a lot of their blushers and love them all. This shade is great to wear for everyday make up and if you want a slightly natural pink blush.

The Elf Blush in Pink Passion is the probably the most pink pigmented shade and is definitely the least natural shade on my favorites list, but I love this neon pink pop of color, and some how I don't feel overly made up when I wear it. The Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Pink Frosting is another pigmented blush but it is easier to control the amount of color based on it's application. Use a little bit for a sheer pink tint or apply more blush for a more pigmented cheek color. The texture is really fun, but it can be strange to apply, I like to use a make up brush or a sponge.

I originally purchased Wet n Wild's Pearlescent Pink Blush because it it supposed to be a dupe of a high end blush ( I can't even remember which one). It is pigmented and subtly shimmery. It isn't a sheer blush and a little bit of it goes a long way, but it is a great blush option for those on a budget.
The Jordana Blush Pot in Touch of Pink is another budget friendly blush that has quickly become a favorite. I love the peach pink color that is a more matte option than my go to covergirl blush.
 What's your favorite blush?

Pink Lipstick Favorites

In February I shared with you some of my Favorite Red Lipsticks and today I wanted to come back to share my favorite pink lipsticks. The thing about pink lipsticks is that there are a lot of different kinds out there. For the purposes of this post I am focusing on light pink lipsticks. I love berry pinks and rose pinks, but I will save those for another post ;)
I have to admit I was a bit intimidated by light pink lipsticks at first. They don't always have the dramatic impact that red or deeper toned lipsticks can have when looking at the bullet so it can be really hard to shop for them. And like I mentioned before, there are A LOT of options for pink lipsticks out there and that can make it hard to narrow it down to one that you really like. I have learned over the years through trial and error what I prefer, and for me that is a creamy to matte lipstick with no shine or glitter. I don't like glossy finishes, and I can't wear something too drying either. My skin tone is somewhere in the middle so I can usually get away with wearing both warm and cool toned lip colors so my favorite pink lipsticks will feature a bit of both. All of these are drugstore lipsticks that are affordable on pretty much any budget.

 1. Wink For Pink Revlon Creme Lipstick
This is a very subtle easy to wear slightly warm toned pink. The creme formula lipstick from Revlon is one of my favorites and to me this color is very safe and perfect for everyday wear.

 2. 101 Kate Lipstick For Rimmel
I found this one after reading reviews online. It'd from the Rimmel Kate Matte line, but the formula is still creamy, not drying. It's a cool toned pink that isn't too light and is also a favorite for everyday wear.

 3. 563A NYX Lipstick
This one is a bit of a wildcard color for me and not something I would usually pick up but I was looking for something a bit different. I was happy with the formula of this lipstick and its great for days when I want a more hot pink type color. It's a light hot pink that is only slightly warm toned.
Not what I'd go for for everyday wear.

 4. Petal Rebel 60 Maybelline Color Whisper
I love the Color Whisper line from Maybelline. The lipsticks are super lightweight with sheer, but buildable color. This a light cool toned pink. This lipstick sheer formula makes them perfect for spring and summer time wear.

5. Primrose Revlon Creme Lipstick
This one is one of my favorite pink lipsticks by far. It is a cool toned pink that I feel compliments red hair. I think this color probably isn't for everyone because it is very light, but I love the fun pop of color. The bullet looks almost purple in color, but it still appears pink when worn.

There you have it, five of my favorite light pink lipsticks, right in time for spring! Pink is the perfect lip color for this time of year, and pretty pink lips can be the perfect pairing to your favorite sun dress for everyday wear. I'm glad I overcame my little fear of pink lipsticks because now they're almost all I wear. Pink lipsticks are so easy to wear for work or for running errands so they wind up in my makeup bag a lot.
Do you have any favorite pink lipsticks you think I need to try? Let me know :)

5 Liquid Eyeliners

I have been wanting to do a review of liquid eyeliners for quite some time now because liquid eyeliner is kind of my thing. I wear a cat eye look pretty much every day and it's definitely one I'm very comfortable wearing. I can't remember exactly when I began wearing it, probably my junior or senior year of high school. That's years of trying out and searching for the best drugstore liquid eyeliner out there. Today I gathered up five of the different drugstore liquid eye liners that I've tried to tell each item's strengths and weaknesses. I have a couple different requirements when shopping for liquid eyeliners. First, it must be a matte black. I don't want anything shiny or glittery. Second, it must be easy to apply. I prefer felt tip applicators to brushes. And finally, it shouldn't flake. This one is a no-brainer, no one wants their makeup flaking off. If a liquid eyeliner meets these requirements, then chances are I've tried it. So let me save you some time and money by telling you the pros and cons of these five liquid eyeliners.

1. Maybelline New York Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black
This has a somewhat traditional packaging where the applicator unscrews from the base full of liquid eyeliner. The applicator is a thin felt tipped bush that makes getting thin lines really easy.
My only complaint with this product is that it borders on the shiny side. Other than that this one is a favorite.

2. Prestiege Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black
This one is not as well known but is one of my favorite Liquid Eyeliners by far. The applicator is simple, like the Maybelline line Stiletto it has a felt tipped brush that unscrews from the base with holds the remaining eyeliner. The brush is slightly larger making thin lines slightly difficult. My favorite thing about this eyeliner is that it is a true matte black that doesn't flake.

3. NYC High Definition Liquid Eyeliner in Black
This eyeliner is a pen type applicator that makes applying the eyeliner super simple with no messes. It is easy to achieve thin lines. I find that the eyeliner must be layered to get full coverage and a matte black. Also the pen seems to dry out rather quickly. This one if one of the more inexpensive products listed here, but you get what you pay for.

4. Almay Intense I-Color Liquid Eyeliner in Black Pearl
I actually decided to try out this liquid eyeliner because it had a coupon. It was one of those pick the products which play up your eye color lines, and this isn't the one for my eye color. I went with it because it was black, which is usually the first thing I double check with eyeliner. What I failed to realize is that the "pearl" part of "black pearl" meant the eyeliner has glitter in it. It's pretty subtle and actually a great eyeliner to have when you want to be a little more playful with your make up, but not what I want for in my everyday look.

5. L'oreal Paris The Infallible Blackbuster Liquid Eyeliner
This is the eyeliner that is currently in my makeup bag. This has the pen style applicator. The eyeliner is both matte and black and has great coverage with one swipe. Best of all it is incredibly easy to apply. I've found that it's easy to achieve both thin and thick lines with the applicator. It's safe to say this is my new favorite.

I hope that these reviews are helpful to any one looking to try out a new liquid eye liner.
I'm not sure if my hunt for the best eyeliner will ever end, but that's okay because I have a lot of fun trying out new ones. I'll be sure to share them again whenever I do ;)

Red Lipstick Favorites

Wearing red lipstick is nothing new, and I'm definitely not the first person to write a blog post about my favorite red lipsticks, but I wanted to be able to share a few of them since I wear them in my blog posts from time to time. It's also great timing because Valentine's Day is the perfect occasion to wear this romantic hue. There are a lot of different shades of red on the market and not every shade is right for everyone. The best way to determine which red is right for you is to determine if your skin is warm, neutral, or cool toned. If your skin is warm toned look for red lipsticks that have orange or coral tones to them to compliment your skin. If you have skin that is cool in tone look for pink toned lipsticks with blue undertones. If your skin is neutral you can try either and see which you prefer, or just have one of each on hand!

1. Avon Poppy Love U420
This is the perfect example of a warm toned red. This lipstick was actually given to me by my grandma and quickly became a favorite. I love this shade and have worn it several times in outfit posts. This is the only Avon lipstick I own, but my first impression of the brand is great. This lipstick is a creamy formula that isn't drying. The shade has great staying pattern and is one of my regularly used of all my lipstick colors!

2. Wet n Wild 519A
This is a great drugstore red lipstick. It is more of a cool toned shade and is perfect for pairing with pink cheeks. It's super inexpensive but it is actually my second favorite red shade. I love that I can wear it with pink blush without the two clashing. The formula of the lipstick is really great for how cheap the lipstick is too.

3. Revlon Fire & Ice 720
This shade of red is supposed to be neutral and should therefore compliment all skin tones. This shade is one of Revlon's classic shades that the brand has been producing since the 1950's.  Revlon creme lipsticks are some of my favorites, and are priced great as well. Even if red lipstick isn't your thing you should check out Revlon's other shades. They have my favorite lip products and colors.

 4. NYC Retro Red 308B
This is another drugstore shade that is a great red for all skin tones. I think of it as a True Red. The formula for this lipstick is really great for the price. I definitely recommend this to someone who doesn't wear red lips often because it is inexpensive and suits everyone. The finish is creamy and doesn't dry out on the lips. It's staying power isn't on par with Revlon but it's still great for how inexpensive the line is.

So there you have it, my favorite red lipstick shades. I love trying out new make up products and Red lips is one thing you can guarantee will never go out of style. It's popularity has lasted through decades with no end in sight.

Do you have a favorite red lipstick?

Fall 2013 Lipstick Favorites

So I've been wanting to share a few of my favorite lipsticks since I wrote about some of my favorite face makeup products and also my favorite eye make up products earlier this month. I was never a huge lipstick person until around two years ago. I just had such a difficult time finding the right brand and the right colors that worked for me. I also have a small scar on the the right side of my bottom lip and it has also made me a little weary of if I should wear lipstick or not. No one wants to draw attention to a facial scar. I guess at some point I just got over it. I really wanted to be able to wear red lipstick when I wanted and eventually I branched out.
Now I know that is probably too much background information but I just wanted to make a point at how particular I am about the lipsticks I favorite. I'm not a fan of anything with shimmer or sheen. I prefer creme and matte formulas. These five lipsticks are my current favorites (and all but one of them are drugstore brands!)

 1.Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick #101
This is a light colored, blue toned pink. It has a creamy but matte finish. A perfect everyday lipstick.
Rimmel's Matte lipsticks replaced Revlon's Mattes as my favorite matte lipsticks. This formula is not as drying which is important this time of year :)

2.NYX Extreme Lip Creme in Nude Peach Fuzz
This is sort of more of a lipgloss type application but the coverage is more like a lipstick. The color is a light nude peach. This is another great everyday color.

 3. Revlon Matte lipstick in Smoked Peach
Although I like Rimmel's Matte lipstick more than Revlon's I can't disagree that Revlon has a better color variety. I loved this shade instantly. It is definitely a more deep peach color than I'm used to and doesn't have too much pink in it which is usually the case with peach lipsticks.

4. Avon Lipstick in Poppy Love
This lipstick was actually given to me by my grandma. It is just as the name says, a bright poppy red. The formula is creamy and smooth. This is definitely a yellow toned red and I've been preferring it to my previous favorite red shade which is more of a blue toned red. I know I will still be wearing this all throughout winter.

5. Revlon Creme Lipstick in Sultry Sable
This is sort of my wildcard shade. I've been on the hunt for a darker colored lipstick and haven't found quite what I'm looking for yet. This is the closest I've come to liking a shade. This is a dark vampy shade. The formula is creamy so it's easy to layer to achieve a darker finish. I really loved how this lip color contrasted with my lighter hair before I dyed it but with my darker hair I'm worried it's coming off a little bit goth. Either way it's a fun shade to throw into the mix every once in a while.

Anyway I hope you enjoyed reading a little more about my favorite lipsticks. It's fun to compare all them together and see that I'm definitely more a fan of nude and pink shades. I'd like to share more make up favorites soon. If there's anything you're interested in knowing more about just let me know. I've been thinking about sharing a few liquid eyeliners I've tried. Any thoughts?
Are you a fan of lipsticks?
Until Next Time,

Fall 2013 Face Makeup Favorites

A week ago I had some fun sharing my favorite eye make up products for Fall 2013. Today I wanted to come back and share some of my favorite products to use for my overall face. My face make up can vary from day to day but there are a few products that I always come back to. Some days even when I don't feel like going all out with make up I still do a little to my face. It's amazing what some concealer or blush can do to give your skin a little extra glow.

The first part of my skin routine is to use Garnier's BB Cream in Light/Medium. This product is something I used all throughout summer as well as it moisturizes and gives your skin a slightly dewy glow. This item is also great for the days you don't want to wear make up because it also has spf 15 for some skin protection. Sometimes I wear this by itself when I feel like being makeup free but still need a little coverage. I have seen that there is an anti-aging formula and oil-free versions on the market that I'm interested in trying.

The next part of my routine is to conceal. I use concealer under my eyes in a triangle formation and blend unto my cheekbones. I don't have terrible bags but this step really brightens up my skin and highlights my cheekbones as well. The concealer I've been using regularly is Revlon's Photoready Concealer. I like the formula as it is easy to blend and has good coverage as well.

After I apply my concealer the next item I use is foundation. I try to only use it in problem areas and blend with my concealer to give my skin a more natural finish and not look like I've painted on my face. The foundation I've been using lately is Revlon Nearly Nude foundation. This foundation is a sheer coverage foundation and I love that it really does give my skin a natural finish. I loved this foundation during summer but may decide to switch to something with heavier coverage in for winter.

Most days I set my make up with my Covergirl Fresh Complexion pressed powder. This gives my skin a nice matte finish and keeps my foundation and concealer in place. This is pretty much the only powder I bother with. I'm not a huge powder fan as most of them seem to sit on the skin and emphasize wrinkles, I don't notice that effect with this powder, so I'm pretty happy spending my money on it.

I usually finish off my skin make up routine with Covergirl Blush. My favorite shade is Rose Silk but I own several different shades of their blush that I swap in and out of my makeup bag regularly. Covergirl is my go to line for blush hands down. The Rose Silk shade is a nice pink-peach color that looks fresh against my skin. It's been in my make up bag for years.

The first picture shows me with just face makeup (as described above) with my eyebrows shaped with Rimmel eyebrow pencil and Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit.  The second image is me with full makeup using products described here. I am also wearing one of my favorite lipsticks by Revlon, Primrose.
I'd like to come back and do more posts about some of my favorite makeup items, so if there's anything you're curious about feel free to ask!
What are some of your face make up products you just can't live without?

Fall 2013 Eye Make up Favorites

I always love finding out what kinds of products other people use so I decided to share a little bit more of some of my favorite products. I've shared a few of My Favorite Haircare Products before, but this time I've decided to focus on eye make up.
When I do my make-up I spend most of my time on my skin and eyes. To me the skin and eye make-up is all you need for great basic everyday make-up. However, I definitely like to play up my eyes the most. I pretty much wear the cat-eye look every day. I always wear several coats of mascara and I love my eyelash curler. If you also love eye make up above all else, continue reading. If not sorry, but I'll do another post about skin and lips soon :)

Maybelline Full N' Soft Mascara in Blackest Black: I have been using this Mascara off and on for years and have always loved that it results in thicker lashes with little to no clumps. This mascara can be made more dramatic by adding more layers as well. It is very easy to wash off as well which is important to me.

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel: This is another product I have been using off and on for several years. It is definitely a contender for my favorite eyebrow pencil. I just love that it is a brown eyebrow pencil that doesn't have a reddish color to it. For some reason those are hard to come by.

Rimmel Scandalous Eyeliner in Nude: This eyeliner is great for opening up your eyes and making your eyes really pop. I prefer it to white eyeliner which can be a bit too dramatic for everyday use.

Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit: I have mentioned this product on HN before the lighter color is a good match to my hair color and blends well with my Rimmel eyebrow pencil.

Covergirl Eyeshadow in Mink: This eyeshadow is my favorite go to when I want to play up my eyes a little bit more

Almay Liquid Eyeliner in Black Pearl- I'm always on the hunt for the best liquid eyeliner and this is the first time I've used an Almay Liquid eyeliner. This color, "Black Pearl" has a little it of a sparkle in it and is a fun product to use every now and then but isn't going to be my favorite or go to eyeliner. I'm still looking for the right one.

You can find some of my other most used make-up products here. You may recognize some that are still in my routine now. I hope to share some more of my other favorite skin make-up items and lipsticks soon!

What are some of your favorite eye make-up products?

What I'm Loving Now: Make Up Edition (5things)

Last month I published This post about a few products that I liked for a different take on the "5 Things" posts I usually do. I Had a lot of fun talking about some of my favorite products with you so I decided to come back with another post to test the waters of introducing posts like this as a new feature for HN. So let me know if this is something you'd enjoy reading about more :)

  1. Wet N' Wild Blush in Heather Silk (832E) and Pearlescent Pink (831E). These two are my go to blushes. The brand is really inexpensive and the blush is still pigmented and long lasting. I usually go back and forth between using these two in my daily make up routine as blush and also sometimes as eye shadow.

2.Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant nail polish in Coral Silk (240). I chose this nail polish because I wanted a peachy nail polish that was both pink but orange-y as well. Honestly this polish looks more orange in most lights but it still is obviously peach. Just not enough pink in it as i would have liked. It's still my favorite nail polish color right now.

 3. Maybelline Falsies Volum' Express Mascara in Blackest Black.
Mascara is one of my make up necessities and I'm always searching for a product that gives both volume and length. This is one of the few mascaras that meets both those needs. If I use my eye lash curler it really gives the full look of false lashes without the glue. so worth it.

 4. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Matte Smoked Peach (013). I am pretty picky when it comes to lipsticks. I've always been a fan of matte lipsticks but often times the formulas are cakey and the end product is just... not good. Revlon's matte lipsticks are some of my favorites. I own quite a few and this particular color is perfect for summer. It is the perfect combination of a coral and a nude. I've been wearing it constantly since the weather warmed up.

5. Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit. I picked this up on a whim while browsing the make up section at the store because it was on sale and I've been trying to regrow my eyebrows for a while and really needed a powder filler for my brows in the meantime. This stuff is a lifesaver. I use it both with and without eyebrow pencil depending on my mood. It comes with two brow colors and a highlighter as well as brushes and tweezers. I usually use the lighter shade for more realistic brows and the darker shade for more dramatic make up. It's been in my daily make up line up since i brought it home.
