Top Ten Winter Outfits

Winter has to be my least favorite season. In Texas our winters are cold and wet - they are perfect for coziness but after too long they can make you stir crazy. I'm definitely sick of winter and at that stir crazy point. I'm day dreaming about warm weather, swimsuits, tropical drinks, flowers everyone and so on and so on. Although I'm sick of winter it's not all bad. Winter fashion can be pretty fun :)  & since spring is quickly approaching I thought I'd better get around to doing my seasonal top ten round up, so here we go!

6. Ten

As usual these aren't ranked in any particular order. I simply included my favorite winter outfits both from this year and last. It's always fun to look back at past outfits and see how somethings have changed and how others haven't. It's also sort of funny how unwintery some of these outfits are, I guess that's Texas for you! Looking through these I see my most worn winter item has to be my olive jeans, but I think I just wear them a lot in general regardless of the time of year ;) Odd enough I'm not wearing a coat in any of these outfit photos ( I think I've only taken pictures with it once or twice).
What is your favorite thing to wear in wintertime?

30 x 30: Eleven

Glasses: Heb // Denim Jacket c/o Chadwicks // Top: Thrifted // Button: Vintage // Jeans: Target (DIY distressed) // Boots c/o Metrostyle

Each outfit in the 30 x 30 challenge gets more and more, well, challenging. This outfit is somewhat reminiscent of a past outfit with a few changes, as a lot of these outfits have been. I guess that's what I get for including pieces I wear a lot! These black jeans have gotten so much wear that they've begun to fade and look dark blue. I suppose that means I'd better replace them soon. I'm starting to slowly add a few things into my wardrobe to update it for spring anyway. I actually spied a pair of high-waisted black jeans at Target while shopping recently but of course they were out in my size. Still debating if I should order them online without being able to try them on, or if I should just continue my hunt. I'm sort of holding out hope I'll be able to thrift the perfect pair of high-waisted jeans. Hey, a girl can dream right?

30 x 30: Ten

Hat, Leggings, Necklace, & Cardigan: Target // Scarf: A Gift // Belt: Thrifted // Boots: JcPenney

This outfit marks me being one-third through my 30 x 30 challenge. It's hard to believe I'm only ten outfits into the challenge and that it's now spanned across three months. That was never my intention but if I'm being honest, this challenge is a lot more difficult than I expected it to be. It's not always easy to be inspired to create new and exciting outfits from the thirty items I selected for this challenge. This outfit is probably one of my favorites so far, so I think that accessorizing has a lot to do with it for me. I guess I need to kick myself in gear in the accessories department, and also with being consistent in taking outfit photos. I'm going to blame that part on winter ;)

30 x 30: Nine

Top: Thrifted // Cardigan: Target // Jeans, Purse, Necklace, & Ankle Boots: JcPenney

I can hardly believe that March is already here. I know February is a short month but somehow March still snuck up on me. I'm excited though because March signifies that the end of winter is almost here. This winter feels like it's been so long already and I'm aching for some warmer weather. This time of year I feel like the only thing anyone talks about is the weather and I guess I'm no different.

30 x 30: Eight

Top, Jeans, & Purse: JcPenney // Sweater: Walmart // Flats: Target

How is it almost March already?! Gosh February has been a quick month, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't super excited we're nearing spring finally. I'm about sick of winter ;)

Anyway, here's one of my favorite combinations: olive, denim, & leopard print. I seriously can't get enough of this pairing. I've worn an outfit similar to this in the past but the look is completely different when you swap out the accessories. That has to be one of my favorite things about basics, you just tweak a few things and viola, you have an entire new outfit.

30 x 30: Seven

Top & Wedges: Target // Maxi Skirt: JcPenney

When I was putting together the clothing for my 30 x 30 Remix Challenge I decided to incorporate this striped maxi skirt to figure out a way to style it more for colder weather since I've always associated maxi dresses and skirts with warmer weather. I'd pinned a few ideas but when it came down to it I knew that pairing it with a simple sweater and these neutral wedges was definitely the way to go. I'm really loving these taupe-beige shades at the moment anyway so this outfit turned out to be one of my favorites from this challenge so far.
How do you style maxi skirts for colder weather?
