Summer Ease

I'm back from my trip & have a ton of pictures to share but I wanted to pop in for a quick outfit post before I do. This is a pretty typical summer outfit for me. Easy & no fuss are what I'm all about. I stick two my black and white stripes and denim because I know they can both do no wrong.

Most of my favorite clothing pieces this summer have been separates much like this skirt & top. They are perfect for mixing and matching, and that makes getting dressed incredibly easy.

Fancy Casual

This is one of those outfit that is really simple but somehow still makes me feel very put together. Midi skirts have that effect on me. They are both modest and chic. If you don't have a midi skirt already I strongly recommend adding one to your closet. I found this one thrifting and it's proved to be a really great purchase.

This shirt is a recent purchase from Target. I bought it to replace another striped shirt I've had for years and I am just so in love with this top. I love black and white stripes anyway but the fit of this shirt is just perfect and I love that it has a sort of high neckline.

Pairing stripes and floral together is nothing new but I really like these two paired together. Are you a fan of stripes and florals or mixing patterns?

Summer Layers

It's hard to believe it is July until you go outside. It definitely feels like July in Texas. The temperature can get into triple digits, and the air conditioner is working overtime. That is how I know it's July. Plus the only thing I care about when getting dressed is being comfortable. That is where maxi dresses come in.

This one that I found while thrifting recently is going to be a quick favorite. It is incredibly comfortable and the fabric is lightweight, perfect for hot Texas summers. I love my layers, but it's too hot for a cardigan so a lacey-type shawl is perfect for easy summer layering.

Take A Chance

I'm not usually one to grab the sleeveless, kinda short, kinda tight dress, but the print on this dress got me, and I thought why not? I've always been a bit self conscious about my body but I definitely shouldn't let that stop me from buying a dress I like. I have to say that I'm glad that I did because I ended up really liking how this outfit looks, it feels very me. It's got a boho type print, tons of neutrals, and a little bit of thrifted something. I also curled my hair for the first time in forever and I missed it so so much.

I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone a little bit because I know this dress will end up being a really great piece for wearing leggings this fall and winter. I love light-weight dresses for transitioning into cooler weather because they are just too easy to layer with!

I also think it will be perfect for wearing over my swimsuit this summer. It turns out that taking a chance on this dress may have really paid off. This really makes me reconsider other items I may have looked over in this past... I'm one of those people who always passes up something and later wishes I hadn't.

The New LBD

The LBD that every woman should have is a long black dress. I got this one recently and I'm so in love. It's so comfortable. It has adjustable straps so it can be made to fit any sort of frame.

It's also another really versatile piece that can be remixed a number of different ways. It is also great to wear all year round. In colder temperatures I can see it styled with leggings underneath for warmth and chunky sweaters layered over it for extra coziness.

Festival Girl

If I'm telling you the truth, and I always do, I don't go to a lot of festivals, but if I did I think I'd wear something like this, just definitely not these shoes ;)

I have always loved boho style and I have been really into all things bohemian lately. If you follow me on pinterest you know what I mean.

Playing Favorites

I was lucky enough to get to go thrifting right after I got back from being on vacation. Talk about getting spoiled huh? ;) The best part was that I found some really awesome stuff that has been on my 'to thrift' list, like this olive green, cargo style pencil skirt. Basically I found my dream skirt, and it cost me $5.99. Totally worth it.

I also found this striped shirt, which it may seem silly for me to pick up yet another black and white striped shirt, but this one has a really cute detail on the back... which I forgot to take pictures of, ha! Next time, I promise!

I can already tell this shirt and skirt will be new favorite pieces, because I've already been thinking of other items in my closet to wear them with. Items like this are perfect for adding to your closet because the are super versatile and easy to dress up or down.
Have you thrifted anything good lately?
