Comfy Boho

You probably have noticed by now how much I love olive-colored clothing. It is definitely my favorite neutral right now by far. So of course when I came across these pants at JCP I fell in love. They are so slouchy and comfortable and they seriously go with everything.

I don't know how I went so long without a pair of pants like these.
I could sleep in them easily but I also think I could dress them up with a cute top and some heels.
That is my kind clothing for sure.

Oranges And Olives

Orange and olive green are two of my favorite colors to wear but I never really considered wearing them together. I'm pretty happy with how they look together but it definitely comes off to me as more of a fall color scheme. Either way I like this outfit. I pretty much love any outfit with this skirt because it's just so amazing.

I have been day dreaming about fall and fall clothes. I think fall is my favorite time of year to get dressed. I love sweaters and leggings and fall colors. Olive green and orange seem like the perfect color pairing for fall so that makes me excited since I've added a lot of new olive colored clothing in the past year ;)

All of this talk about fall may have fooled you into thinking I'm over summer, but I assure you I am not. I suppose that is a good thing since there is still so much summertime left. Luckily I have some awesome things coming up soon that I'm looking forward to :)
Do you have any fun summer plans?

June Bug

I still don't think it's really sunk in that it's already June. To me June means it is officially summer. Summer in Texas means that it's about to get super hot. It can be tricky to know how to dress when the temperatures can get into the triple digits so having a skirt like this one that goes almost anything is perfect to have around.

I stuck with a favorite color pallet of olive and denim with cognac, it's so simple but somehow just works so well together.

On Repeat

I hope you like olive colored clothes as much as I do, otherwise you're probably getting bored (& we probably wouldn't get along anyway). I seriously can't get enough of this color. Next on my list of olive colored clothing to add to my closet is a dress and some shorts.

I thrifted this top on a recent trip to goodwill along with some other great clothing. I got a lot of things on my thrifting wishlist so I left pretty happy. I had actually been hunting for a good olive top for a while and I'm really happy with this one, it's so so comfy :)

Playing Favorites

I was lucky enough to get to go thrifting right after I got back from being on vacation. Talk about getting spoiled huh? ;) The best part was that I found some really awesome stuff that has been on my 'to thrift' list, like this olive green, cargo style pencil skirt. Basically I found my dream skirt, and it cost me $5.99. Totally worth it.

I also found this striped shirt, which it may seem silly for me to pick up yet another black and white striped shirt, but this one has a really cute detail on the back... which I forgot to take pictures of, ha! Next time, I promise!

I can already tell this shirt and skirt will be new favorite pieces, because I've already been thinking of other items in my closet to wear them with. Items like this are perfect for adding to your closet because the are super versatile and easy to dress up or down.

Differing Shades

I've never really thought of pairing mint and olive greens together in an outfit because they seem like polar opposites but when I was getting dressed earlier putting the two different shades of green together seemed to make so much sense. And surprisingly I really like how this outfit turned out. Maybe it's just because I kept everything pretty simple overall.

This outfit is also a testament to me that you should hold on to clothing or accessories if you like them because some things you really can wear year after year. Both these sandals and earrings were purchased from Target as far back as 2005.

Green has always been one of my favorite colors so I guess it makes sense that I would like wearing green pretty much from head to toe. Monochromatic looks aren't really anything new though, chambray with denim is a really popular monochromatic pairing, and I think a peach and coral version of this outfit would look great as well. It just depends on your color preference.

Like I said I really ended up liking this pairing and would definitely like to try wearing mint and olive together more often this spring and summer to add so more color into my closet.
Do you like this pairing? Would you wear a monochromatic outfit similar to mine?

Different Names For The Same Thing

So it should be no secret by now that I love this color combination. I seriously can't get enough of it. I want an olive shirt and olive shorts so I can assemble more outfits with the same color combination. It's safe to say I'm a bit obsessed. I even found the perfect pair of high-waisted olive green shorts but they were too small, so the hunt continues.

This black dress is actually one of my all time favorite purchases. It has a great shape for my body type, works well year round, and goes with everything. It is one of my favorite dresses for layering as well. I love simple black dresses and wouldn't mind adding another to my closet as they as timeless and super versatile.

I also wanted a chance to wear these olive tights again before it gets too warm for them ;)

Change is Good

I've been thinking of going back to being a redhead for sometime now, and it finally happened. I love my new hair color and am excited to kick off the warmer months with change. I'm a firm believer that change is good and sometimes it's all you need to get yourself out of a rut. I've been feeling a bit in a creative rut and I'm hoping that making a few small changes in my everyday life will leave me feeling inspired again.

Plus I've been a redhead a couple times before and I just love it. It is one of the harder hair colors to maintain but I've learned a few tricks over the years to make red hair stay vibrant longer.
It may seem a bit of a drastic change to some people but I love changing my hair color, it's something I've done for years and no matter how I hard I try I can't commit to one color. We'll see maybe this time something will stick. I am pretty in love with it.
