Lately I've been drawn to all things simple like this easy outfit. I'm craving basics in my closet and have been adding some essential and classic basics to my wardrobe already this fall including these versatile cognac flats.

Now that it's finally cooling down in central Texas I've been wearing a lot of jeans. I almost forgot that jeans are kind of amazing. They come in pretty much any color you could think of, and in any style as well. I'm a pretty big fan of skinny jeans but I've been wanting to add some distressed BF jeans to my closet as well. I definitely love my ripped up pair of black jeans and my olive colored skinnies. I wear them constantly and with everything. I'd go as far to call them closet staples. Now I just need to find the perfect pair of blue jeans...

I seriously can't believe it's already Halloween. Where did October go? I feel like I go through this every month but these last few weeks were a total blur, which is unfortunate since this is my favorite time of year. I had plans to show how I diy'd my Halloween costume and had also hoped to take outfit photos at a cemetery but time just got away from me. I am attending a costume party tonight though so I will definitely share pictures from that soon.

Fancy Casual

  This is one of those outfit that is really simple but somehow still makes me feel very put together. Midi skirts have that effect on me. They are both modest and chic. If you don't have a midi skirt already I strongly recommend adding one to your closet. I found this one thrifting and it's proved to be a really great purchase. 

This shirt is a recent purchase from Target. I bought it to replace another striped shirt I've had for years and I am just so in love with this top. I love black and white stripes anyway but the fit of this shirt is just perfect and I love that it has a sort of high neckline.

 Pairing stripes and floral together is nothing new but I really like these two paired together. Are you a fan of stripes and florals or mixing patterns?
