My Favorite Spring Outfits

With Spring ending I thought it would be fun to look back on some of my favorite spring outfits. I didn't share a lot this year (because my clothes don't fit!) but I've always enjoyed looking at old posts to see how my style has changed and how some things stay constant. Here are my favorite springtime outfits:

I guess it's no surprise that most of my favorite spring looks involve neutrals. What can I say I like a simple color palette. Denim, stripes, beige, black, and olive green are my bread and butter year round and spring is no different! I guess for most people spring is about floral patterns and the color white but I say stick to what you know and what you're comfortable in. When looking through old photos my favorite outfits are those where I kept things simple!

30 x 30: Fourteen // Feeling Free

Top & Maxi Skirt: JcPenney // Flats: Target // Sunglasses: Forever21 // Bracelets: World Market (old) Ring: Bought in Mexico // Hat: H&M (Men's)

I had fun with this photo session as you can probably tell by the massive amount of pictures in this post. It was hard to narrow it down! I didn't manage to get those blue bonnet pictures just yet but there's still plenty of time to find the perfect blue bonnet patch and strike a pose ;)

I'm really enjoying this spring and the slower pace of blogging. I've thought long and hard a decided that no fuss blogging is definitely for me. So with that in mind I've decided to nix the extra features on HN like my blogger spotlight (Big Thanks to Katie & Gabby for taking part in it!) & I even enjoyed writing a few posts with tips but I've really felt more relaxed lately without scheming new ideas. I'm just not that kind of blogger & I'm cool with that. From here on out this place will focus on outfits, plain & simple. I'm still planning on finishing out this 30 x 30 series (no matter how long it takes!) & after that I'm keeping things around here simple. Funny thing is that has me even more excited to blog again. When you do this for a few years it's super easy to experience burn out and I've definitely been there from putting so much pressure on myself. I've come so close to calling it quits and instead of throwing away everything I've worked on for the past five years I've decided to just do what I want to do.

This ended up turning into more of a rant than I intended it to but my message is pretty simple. In the blogging world it can get really easy to get caught up in what other blogs are doing, and if you try to do what other blogs are doing chances are you'll feel dissatisfied with your own blog, so just do your own thing and don't worry about everyone else.

Springtime Uniform

Dress: Hand-Me-Down // Jacket: Chadwicks // Hat: H&M (men's) // Slip-ons: Walmart // Pin: Vintage

This is a variation of my favorite spring outfit. It's an easy combination and super versatile. This is the formula: Denim Jacket + Sundress + Sensible shoes + Hat. That's it! Super cute, comfortable and easily customizable.
This was the perfect outfit for exploring around my new place - until it started raining. Ha! I found one good spot for outfit pictures before the rain came at least :) The hubby snapped these quickly and we ran back to the safety of our apartment. I declared that exploration trip a success even if we only scoped at one spot, it's one more than I had before!
My goal for the next outfit photo session is to take them near wildflowers, specifically blue bonnets. If you're from Texas or have ever visited here in the spring then you probably know that blue bonnet picture taking is a must this time of year. I don't want to miss out on that tradition so it's on my to do list this spring :)

Shades Of Blue

 Dress & Belt: Thrifted // Vest: Target // Scarf & Sandals: Hand-Me-Downs

I thrifted this dress last year & it has to be one of the most comfortable items of clothing I own. I don't really need an excuse to wear tie-dye but throw in the fact that it's a maxi dress & incredibly comfortable & I'm sold.
Also you may notice this is a rare indoor outfit photo post. I'm finally in my new apartment and haven't had a chance to scope out good spots for pictures, so I settled on my living room for now. They look alright but I'm eager to find some pretty outdoor spots near by because the wildflowers around here are gorgeous & would make for a great backdrop. The real issue is getting the courage to take outfit photos in front of people because that always makes me feel a little silly. Time to face my fears I guess ;)

30 x 30: Thirteen

Hat & Flats: Target // Top: JcPenney // Skirt, Glasses, & Belt: Thrifted // Bracelets: JcPenney & Pacsun

This is the first outfit from my 30 x 30 challenge since I decided to mix it up with regular outfits in between these 30 x 30 remix outfits and the funny thing is I love this outfit. I didn't feel forced by the clothing choices, in fact this one felt completely natural and is an outfit I'll probably be wearing a lot this spring. I just love combining chambray, olive & cognac. They go so well together!

April 2015 Wishlist

April 2015

April 2015 by hellonovember featuring a chain necklace

This month I'm craving a simple color pallet of neutrals with a blue accents for a pop of color. I love this boho dress with bell sleeves from Modcloth.
I'm loving clothing with a 70's flare this spring like dresses and tops with bell sleeves or this purse with fringe details. I'm also dying to get my hands on some huarache sandals, I'd prefer a vintage pair but this pair from Target wouldn't be a bad substitute ;) Lately I've also been trying to curate a better jewelry collection and I'm always drawn to statement pieces like these beautiful blue earrings.
What's on your wishlist this month?

Spring Fever

Top: Thrifted // Maxi Dress: Target // Sandals: Hand-me-downs // Bracelets: JcPenney & Target // Necklace: JcPenney

I've always thought of myself as a fall person but in recent years it's become increasingly apparent that I'm becoming a spring person. I'm loving the sunny weather & the flowers and greenery popping up everywhere. It's hard to not spend every moment of daylight outside. I'm excited to get my patio garden started again once I move & then of course spend all my free time out there with my new plants ;) Lucky for me my new apartment has a huge patio so there's plenty of room for all kinds of plants.
What's your favorite part about spring?
