Festival Girl

If I'm telling you the truth, and I always do, I don't go to a lot of festivals, but if I did I think I'd wear something like this, just definitely not these shoes ;)

I have always loved boho style and I have been really into all things bohemian lately. If you follow me on pinterest you know what I mean.

Spring Lace

We have officially settled into spring around here. We've had our windows and doors open to enjoy to beautiful weather almost every day. We're loving every second of this! I don't know how I never realized how awesome spring is, but it's quickly becoming my favorite season (just don't tell fall).

The best part is there is many exciting things happening soon. We have a beach trip planned, Anthony is about to have a birthday, and of course Mother's day is coming up too! May is already promising to be another busy month, but of course I'm excited for it all! Plus I had an excuse to buy a super cute high-waisted swimsuit bottom I've had my eye on ;)

We've been talking about revamping our patio in May too, so that has me really excited and day dreaming about cacti, succulents, and planters. I'm always excited to get more plants!

 Hat - Thrifted
Cardigan - Target
Lace Top - Kohls
Denim Shorts - Thrifted
Moccasins -  Old, Old Navy

It's insane how fast April went by, I know I say that every month, but wow this one was SO quick.

Lighter Layers

For 2014 I wanted to make it a point to take more outfit photos outdoors and try to add some variety to the locations but until now the weather hasn't really cooperated. These are taken just outside our apartment, and as you can tell it still isn't quite spring but when my husband suggested taking a few pictures outside I figured the change of scenery couldn't hurt especially since it was finally warm enough.

Things around here have been moving really quickly, and my husband has been even more busy with work and school than usual, making the days sort of blur together. We welcomed day light savings time because it means longer days and maybe just a little more time to catch our breath before the next day begins.

I think it's actually spring break for most schools around here so I think that's another reason why I've set my sights on spring time. This teal floral dress always makes me think of spring so I decided to wear it, layered with this lacey peplum top, both from JCP. I also had to wear some sandals, these are a super old pair from payless that I really need to replace.
The hat of course is from Target and the belt is thrifted.

I've always thought of myself as more of a fall person but this year I am super excited for spring time. I have so many dresses I can't wait to wear without tights too. For once spring has me inspired, and so of course it is taking it's time getting here.

Are you more a fan of spring or fall? They seem to always be rather polarizing seasons. I still can't decided but I do know that I like winter least.

Neutral Zone

I think I've mentioned my love of neutrals before, and this outfit is a great example of that.
I kept things mostly monochromatic except for the chambray dress (worn as a skirt), which is still a neutral to me.

By the way if you're sick of seeing this hat, then you should know it's quickly become a favorite item in my closet, so it's going to show up pretty often. Sorry, I'm not sorry. I definitely wouldn't mind adding more wide brimmed hats to my hat collection though.

The same should be said for these thrifted loafers and belt. They've become my favorites in no time.
This lace shirt with the peter pan style collar is a bit old, from Kohls. The cardigan, knee high socks, and hat are all from Target.

I have a feeling I will be wearing some version of this a lot this spring. I love layering shirts over dresses, and this dress is perfect for it.
On a side note you may have noticed my hair has lightened quite a bit since I dyed it back in November. I've resisted dying it because I'm trying to restore it's health and it's already come a long way. I may have to do a proper post to update what I've been using on my hair lately... we'll see.

Also today is my big sister's birthday. I don't get to see her as often as I'd like but I miss her like crazy. Happy Birthday Erin, I love you! :)
