Everyday Outfit 02

Hat: Target // Top, Jeans, & Ankle Boots: JcPenney // Sunnies: Rayban Wayfayers // Scarf: Kohls (old)

It's been a while since I shared my first everyday outfit back in November but I love this series because it showcases super simple outfits you can recreate with items from your own closet. Obviously everyone's closet has slightly different basics but think of these everyday outfits as more of a jumping off point instead. Add your own favorite accessories to you simple black top and distressed jeans and see where it goes from there!

Lately I've been drawn to all things simple like this easy outfit. I'm craving basics in my closet and have been adding some essential and classic basics to my wardrobe already this fall including these versatile cognac flats.

Flatlay: Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice

Hat - Target
Satchel - JcPenney
Dress, Cardigan, Glasses, & loafers - Thrifted

These past couple of days it has been overcast and raining a lot around here. I love this sort of weather especially since it brings cooler temperatures with it, at least for a little while. It makes it actually seem like autumn is only days away. Unfortunately rainy days don't make for great outfit photos so you'll have to settle for a flatlay. This color combination is my one of my favorite fall color schemes. I love black and white with orange and it seems strange to do it anytime of year because it just reminds me of Halloween :) Adding in cognac accessories makes it a little less noticeable but either way I love how these colors look together so who cares, right?

Flatlay: A Little Wine

I love this time of year right before autumn where summer clothing and autumn clothing mesh. My favorite is pairing fall colored cardigans with summer dresses and ankle boots. Wine, Mustard, Rust, Pumpkin Orange, Oxblood & Camel are my favorite Autumn colors (I couldn't narrow it down, ha!).
This time I decided to pair my favorite wine colored cardigan with this black and white print dress.

Flat Lay: Summer of Flowers & Stripes

For this flat lay post I sort of kept with the modern Americana theme but added in a few summer trends as well. Stripes and florals like daisies and sunflowers have been my favorite summer trends, so this outfit is both very me, and very current. Always nice when those two things line up ;)

Flatlay: Modern Americana

I have been wanting to share some flat lays for a while now. If you aren't familiar with the idea of a  flay lay it is just laying out clothing & taking a picture of it. It is an outfit photo without a model. The purpose of taking outfit pictures in this manner should hopefully allow the viewer to better visualize themselves wearing the clothing.
Taking flay lay photos is a great option for people who don't have a tripod or someone to take their outfit pictures, or if you are traveling, or plain don't have the time for an "outfit shoot". Flat Lay outfit photos are also ideal for Instagram.
Another great advantage to flay lay outfit pictures is that it allows a lot of creativity, check out my flat lay pinterest board to see how many different ways you can style a flat lay. You can integrate extra props or  keep things minimal, the possibilities are endless.

I will definitely be sharing more flat lay photos around the blog because they are a lot of fun to make :) They will always be outfits I would actually wear with the usual HN style you've come to expect.

I'd love to hear your thoughts about flay lays and any tips you may have for styling them ;) I'm excited to hopefully post more of these around HN to increase the amount of personal style related content so feedback would be greatly appreciated!
