Green Monster Juice #2

Earlier this month I shared my Rosemary Grapefruit Lemonade Recipe with you all, and I'm back to share a HN original recipe created by me and the hubs. It is another Green Monster Juice, but a little different from the recipe I shared back in October. I love experimenting with new combinations with juicing and was excited when this one turned out so well, because quite honestly they don't always taste so great :P anyway, here is what we put into our juicer to create a new Green Monster Drink.
1/2 pineapple
1 medium sized green apple
1 medium grapefruit
3/4 of a bunch of kale (stalks and leaves!)
& 1/3 of a cucumber

This juice is sweet and fresh tasting. The Kale and Cucumber give is that little extra something!
We garnished our drinks with a slice of grapefruit just because and then guzzled them down.

what are some of your favorite smoothie or juice combinations? I'd love to try something new :)

p.s. the photo editing for my photo was done using the beautiful mess app, that can be purchased via itunes for iphone or ipad. it is so much fun and totally worth the 99 cents ;)

creating food.

I'm pretty sure everyone is guilty of photographing their food, and so yeah, of course I do it from time to time. I really enjoy cooking and baking. It's one of the things that has really made being married to Anthony so wonderful. We really love cooking together. Most of our registry items had something to do with our kitchen. Lately we've been eating a lot of chicken enchiladas and chicken tortilla soup. They're both recipes we developed on our own from modifying and combining other recipes. It's been another unofficial goal for 2013 to cook more and bake more, and I'm very excited for the spring and summer months to starting grilling and barbequing again! Until then I think we're both pretty obsessed over this Donut Pan after reading this post on A Beautiful Mess. Do you have any recipes you love and keep going back to or any that you're dying to try?

Thrifty Thursday: Pyrex Bowls

These are two of some butterfly gold 2 pyrex mixing bowls from my local goodwill. They came with a third bowl, but according to pyrexlove's butterfly gold 2 chart they aren't part of a set. Either way I'm excited to have found them and in such wonderful condition. The color is so bright and looks great with my other dishes.

Have you thrifted any pyrex lately?

I'm hoping to use these fresh ingredients to cook with as much as possible this fall. Be on the look out for recipes with autumn ingredients in the near future!

Pyrex

our little pyrex collection. the bottom one with the pink design is from my grandma and the other two were thrifted from goodwill.
This is one collection that is especially exciting to add to. Vintage pyrex is pretty hard to come by at my usual thrift spots. so far i've only found two.
what's your favorite collection?
