Blogger Spotlight: The Gift of Gab

For my second blogger spotlight I knew instantly that I needed to interview Gabby of the Gift of Gab.
She has the cutest sense of style, awesome photography skills, and is such a sweetheart. She's fairly new to blogging, but you wouldn't know by looking at her blog - she's a natural!

How did you get into blogging?
For starters I've always had a love for fashion and I wanted a place to share my own personal style with people with similar interest and likes. Starting my own blog was always in the back of my mind, I just didn't feel like I had a unique enough of a style to stand out on my own, and to be honest it's a little intimidating putting myself out there for all the internet to see. Once I finally let go of the little fears and knew I would be able to give 100% of myself, I saved up and bought my first DSLR camera and macbook, from then it was all uphill! If anyone is thinking about starting a blog of their own and have similar fears, my suggestion is just give it a shot! You have nothing to lose. Since starting blogging everyone I have encountered has been so supportive and shared nothing but love. Once you find your own confindence people around you will notice and admire it.
How would you describe your style?
My personal style is girly with a vintage twist. I like bright colors, florals, and all things shiny. I do every now and then try to go a little bit outside my comfort zone, wether that means adding a little grunge or boho to my wardrobe. I am ever evolving, which is how it should be!
What are your favorite places to shop?
Thrfit, Thrift, and more thrifting! I have a few of my favorite spots in St. Pete where I find some awesome vintage treasures. When i'm not thrifting I like to shop at TopShop, Urban Outfitters, Freepeople. I also have a long list of online boutiques such as Modcloth and Asos.
What are three of your favorite blogs?
Since I'm always finding new blogs to follow its hard to just pick 3. I have so many favorites, but at the moment my favorites are Lilly Melrose (http://www.llymlrs.com) , Keiko Lynn (http://www.keikolynn.com), and Olivia (http://www.whatoliviadid.com). Each one of them have their own unique styles I admire.
Tell me about some of your interests outside of blogging.
Once I started blogging I was able to play around with photography. My camera has quickly become attached to my hip. Nothing serious though, just snapping shots of things I find pretty and my dog. I also enjoy yoga! I've become quite the yogi these last couple years.

What is your 'day job'?
I'm a hairstylist "by day".  I have been working for Aveda for about 7 years now and besides fashion hair is my other passion.
Who is your biggest style inspiration?
My biggest style inspiration goes along with one of my favorite bloggers, Keiko. I discovered Keiko's blog a few years ago, and to me she is the epitome of great style. Not only does she inspire me with fashion, but also what she's accomplished in her career. Although, Keiko a big style inspiration, I have to say my over all inspiration is anyone who looks and acts comfortable in her own skin.
What is one thing you couldn't live without?
Music. I suppose I could live without it, but who wants to live without music? It helps us up when we're down, sustains us, entertains us, and calms us when we need it. I could live without music, but I wouldn't enjoy living life without music.
Name three things you like about yourself.
I've been told I have a contagious laugh. I'd like to think thats true and as people always say, "laughter is the best medicine".
I like that I have the effect to change how people feel about themselves with my profession. Every day I have a new client sitting in my chair unhappy with their appearance when first sitting down to walking out with a smile. It's so rewarding to have that ability.
I am fanatically loyal to my family and friends. If you need something, and it's within my power to do, consider it done.
What is your favorite food?
Chocolate, duh!
& Finally, describe a perfect day.
My perfect day is pretty mundane. Perfect for me would be stopping by a local coffee shop, catching up on some editing, taking my pup to the dog park, just being outside enjoying a beautiful sunny Florida day. Later, catching a yoga class, and finally settling in on the couch to a good movie. Simple.
