Thrifty Finds: A Globe and A Platter

You may remember a few months ago I shared My Globe Collection.
While thrifting recently I was lucky enough to come across this globe right as it was put on the shelf. (I literally followed the poor lady!)

This globe was a particularly exciting find for a couple of reasons. For one, I haven't thrifted a globe in forever! Second,  I have yet to find a non-blue 12 inch globe while thrifting. The colors on this globe are really beautiful and stand out even more again the neutral-colored ocean. Finally, and the most exciting feature is that the globe features the continent The Union of Socialist Soviet Republic, which existed from 1922 till 1991, meaning I scored another vintage globe. woohoo!

The next thing I picked up while thrifting was this wooden platter with an accompanying glass dome. I've been on the look out for something similar to this after since seeing the Threshold Cheese Dome
in a recent Target advertisement I got in the mail. Right now it's holding a crystal and geode collection but it can be used in so many different ways.

I was super excited to find both of these. With the globe costing me $4.99, and the wooden platter and dome costing me $3.58 this was a pretty inexpensive thrifting trip as well.

Have you found anything awesome while thrifting lately? I'd love to see.
Until Next Time,
-Reagan
