Blondies

Blondies have been a favorite of mine since childhood. If you aren't familiar with them they are essentially non-chocolate brownies. They are the perfect dessert for someone who isn't big on chocolate but wants to indulge in a sweet fudgy type treat.
I initially discovered this recipe through pinterest and it led me to Pretty Providence. I altered the recipe only slightly.

First begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F and butter a 9  by 9 pan.

For your ingredients you will need

 2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
10 tablespoons of butter
1 cup of packed light brown sugar
1 cup of granulated white sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1-2 cups of White chocolate chips

You will begin by melting your butter and then mixing it with both of your sugars. Next you will add in the vanilla extract and two large eggs. Mix until the wet ingredients are combined. Then add in the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
Add in the white chocolate chips last. (These would also be really good with some kind of nuts added in!)

Bake 25 - 30 minutes or until a fork comes out clean when tested. Allow to cool before eating. You can eat them as is, or you can add some caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream (which I highly recommend).

These are SO good. This recipe is definitely a new favorite and the best part of this recipe is that most of the ingredients needed to make it are basic baking essentials that almost everyone has on hand. Be sure to give this recipe a try the next time you need a dessert, you will be so glad you did!
