Overnight Oats

Overnight Oats is something I first discovered through Shine Or Set. Basically it is cold oatmeal you make overnight without any cooking simply by combining the ingredients and refrigerating for several hours, preferably overnight. I was intrigued about trying overnight oats because I am just not usually a breakfast person but oatmeal (and yogurt) are good metabolism boosters and are therefore super healthy, & no cooking, so it's just ready in the morning? it's a no brainer.

If you like easy & nutritious breakfasts then read on:

For Basic Overnight Oats you will need:

3/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats
3/4 cup milk (or almond, soy, ect.)
1/2 Greek yogurt (we used vanilla honey, but you can also use plain)
& a jar or container

(check out some of the links on pinterest for other great flavor combinations and add-ins)

We decided to add some honey, frozen mixed berries plus come cinnamon and sugar.
Once you have all the ingredients and extras in your jar put on the lid and seal it tight. Shake your jar until the ingredients are combined.

Once the ingredients are mixed together put the jar into your refrigerator for at least 6 hours.

After six hours we removed our jars. I topped mine with peanut butter and granola and Anthony decided to take his with only granola.

We waited the minimum amount of time of six hours before we dug in. This was really good. I can definitely see myself eating this for breakfast and I'm excited to try all kinds of different combinations in the future. I'll be sure to share of course!
